"holy mother of mud in a picnic basket!!!!
there's a new zebulon pike [release] out called, 'Intransience',...and its wonderful..as we all would expect from these glory filled riff faceted jewels of minnesota.
track 1: called 'mirrors of blessed miracles' is just that...start out with a progressive riff arrangement that plucks and jingles like rain falling...then shifting to mean muffled tribal rhythm
& warpath infested drums with insinuations of sabbathesque string bending and woes.
track 2: titled 'star ocean' with a mellow post rock melody..almost reminiscent of king crimson,..beautiful arrangement,...relaxing..glorious ..as the song winds tword the end they tend to turn up the heavy...but then bringing you back down to assure it won't crush your rush.
the most interesting of the 3 tracks,..
track 3:'the avian magi', punches a little heavy breaking & advanced timing sequences, i smell a VERY small amount of zappa,...and a medium amount yes influence...i don't mean insult to the artists by portraying them as anything other than themselves...for they are..zebulon pike..but the best way to let the reader know..what it sounds like is in comparison to its predecessor's. the song waves in and out of heavy...and progression through mellow acoustic guitars like no other song ive heard before.
i'm not a fair opinion though..i love zebulon pike...and would like to make love with a beautiful, pale skinned, blonde haired, sweedish woman in a huge tub of cherry wine with candles..inscense burning,..and a 14inch assplug wedged in my nether region..while listening to this ep.
let all have a moment of silence for zebulon pike,..in an appreciation to what they offer the music scene..for it is holy......(but i can't get this big mother out of the back door yet....)
will respect for the victims of all professional foot ball injuries."
